Mastering Skin Rehabilitation: Introducing Nimue MD Advanced Skincare

The beauty industry is an ever-evolving landscape, and one area that is showing continued growth is medical aesthetics. With the persistent quest for skincare solutions that decelerate the signs of aging, the demand for more advanced and, in some cases, invasive treatments will undoubtedly continue to grow. Mastering Skin Rehabilitation plays a crucial role in this context.

With this in mind, we are excited to introduce you to Nimue Skin Technology’s newest and most advanced skin rehabilitation range.

In this article we take a deep dive into the concept behind the MD range of products and discover what makes MD such a powerful tool in healing and restoring the skin to optimal health, no matter what treatments you provide.

Why Did Nimue Create MD?

The Nimue MD Range was specifically designed to provide powerful, results-oriented, safe, medically endorsed, and quality topical products to support and enhance the outcomes of an extensive range of medical aesthetic procedures. These include non-surgical procedures like microneedling and chemical peels, plastic surgery and reconstructive surgery.

The aim of this compact and integrative range is to support the healing process of the skin, focussing on 4 main outcomes:

• Healing acceleration

• Inflammation control

• Downtime reduced

• Enhanced outcomes and results

Skin Rehabilitation: The Concept Behind MD

Wound healing is a natural biological process in the human body that occurs through four precisely programmed phases. For successful healing, these phases must happen in the correct sequence and within the appropriate time frame.

The MD Range took the 4 phases of wound healing into consideration. The target of the range is to address specific mechanisms in each phase of the skin healing process to support repair and regeneration, control inflammation and contribute to a structured collagen deposition.

The 4 phases of wound healing are:

  1. Hemostasis – the process of a wound being closed by clotting
  2. Inflammatory Phase – White blood cells remove bacteria and debris
  3. Proliferative Phase – Epidermal growth takes place
  4. Remodelling Phase – New skin begins to blend in and wound completely closes

There are many factors that can affect wound healing which interfere with one or more phases in this process, thus causing impaired tissue repair. These factors include infection, medication, moisture, age, nutritional status, etc.

By working in synergy with the skin’s natural healing process and providing the optimum active ingredients, MD has the power to significantly improve outcomes.

The MD range features some impressive ingredients, including Glycyrrhetinic Acid, Horse Chestnut Seed Extract, Turmeric Plant Stem Cells, and Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF).

EGF, in the form of SH-OLIGOPEPTIDE-1, accelerates wound healing and enhances skin renewal. Produced in a lab through fermentation, this EGF has the same molecular structure and biological activity as the naturally secreted EGF in the human body. Some of the main benefits of EGF include:

• Global cell repair

• Emergency response mechanism to damage

• Accelerates healing

• Promotes cell renewal by enhancing epidermal growth and keratinisation

• Stimulates collagen and hyaluronic generation

• Reverses the growth inhibitory actions of inflammatory mediators

What Conditions is MD Good for?

While MD was initially developed for surgical procedures, it’s clear that this range is relevant to all skincare settings. From damaged skin barriers to post-treatment soothing and cooling, MD can address a wide range of conditions and traumas that your clients may experience.
