Let’s Talk Beauty Business: Part Two

Cash Flow, Social Media & Follow-Ups

If you didn’t catch Part 1 of my blog on Beauty Business, you will find it here.

In this second blog (Part 2), I’d love to share with you some more tips on how to manage your cash flow, how to organise your social media, and why it’s vital to make follow-ups part of your client retention strategy.

Managing Cash Flow

Why It Is Crucial

Effective cash flow management is essential for the survival and growth of any business. It ensures that you have enough funds to cover your operational needs and helps in planning for future expansions or unexpected expenses.

Practical Tools

I encourage you to actively manage your financial health using a tool like the one I’m providing. It is an Excel cash flow template.

This tool can help forecast and track cash flow, allowing for better financial decisions.

Like all the templates I’m providing you, you must make it your own, but all the formulations are made and ready to use. I have been using this template for over 20 years. It gives me peace of mind, and I sleep so much better thanks to this little tool.

So, click the link and download it now; you won’t regret it.

This tool took me years to develop. I’m gifting it to you for free. You’d be crazy not to use it or to use something like it.

Managing Social Media

Outsourcing Benefits

Managing social media might require more time and expertise than you can provide in-house. Outsourcing this task to professionals can enhance your online presence, engage with your audience more effectively, and drive more business.

However, there are some things that should be done in-house: short reels or stories of product descriptions, testimonials, new product launches, reminders, or fun moments at the salon. These will enhance your media profile with a tone of authenticity and provide a powerful message to your target audience.

Choosing a Professional

I’m a strong advocate for selecting a social media manager. If you can find the right one, you will never look back. When interviewing a social media manager, ask about their experience with similar businesses, their approach to management, and how they measure success. This will help you find someone who can accurately represent your brand voice and ethos.

I recommend making as many videos, reels, and short stories as possible. Posts alone are not enough to keep your target audience enthralled.

Don’t Underestimate Follow-Ups

The Importance of Follow-Up

Following up with clients shows you care about their satisfaction and are committed to their beauty journey. This can significantly enhance client retention.

What to Ask

Here are 10 suggested follow-up questions you could use after a treatment and a prescribed homecare routine:

  1. How did your skin feel immediately after the treatment?
  2. Have you noticed any changes in your skin’s appearance or texture since starting the homecare routine?
  3. How are you finding the prescribed products? Are you able to use them as directed?
  4. Have you experienced any discomfort or irritation from the products or the treatment?
  5. How well has the new routine integrated with your daily schedule?
  6. What improvements or changes have you observed in your skin’s condition?
  7. Are there any concerns or questions you have about the treatment or the products used?
  8. On a scale of 1 to 10, how satisfied are you with the treatment results so far?
  9. Are there any skin issues you feel have not been addressed by the treatment or products yet?
  10. When would you like to schedule your next appointment to reassess and continue your care?

These questions can help gather essential feedback on the treatment’s effectiveness and the client’s satisfaction with their prescribed skincare routine.

Personalized Automation

Automating follow-up messages can save time; nevertheless, there is nothing like personalising these communications to maintain a genuine connection.

We recorded a great video with Naomi Nahoum about follow-ups. Here’s the link.
